George Royal Kepferle
George was the 2nd child of Joseph Paul Kepferle and Alice Hall. He was born November 8, 1878 and died July 12, 1962. This is copied from his obituary in The Kansas City Times, Kansas City, Missouri, Friday, July 13, 1962.George Roy Kepferle, 84 Olathe, a resident of Greater Kansas City 23 years, died yesterday at Olather Community Hospital. His son Kenneth Kepferle, 5936 Ballentine, Shawnee, operates a weekly newspaper in Johnson County. Mr. Kepferle was born in Alma, Kansas, and lived in the intercity district 20 years before he moved to Johnson County three years ago. He was a metal mixer for the Independence Brass and Aluminum company. Also surviving are his wife, Mrs. Gussie Kepferle, Olathe; a daughter, Mrs. Gene A. Shafto, 10807 West Sixtieth, Shawnee; anoher son Joseph R. Kepferle, Grainfield, Kansas; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday at the Amos chapel; burial in the Pleasant View cemetery, Shawnee. Friends may call from 7 to 9 o'clock tonight at the chapel.
